Name: Kindle
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Rank: Goldrider
Family:
Mother: Kinian, drudge, High Reaches Weyr
Father: Hindlen, Journeyman Harper, High Reaches Weyr
Sister: Hinian, Journeywoman Harper, Silent Weyr
Sister: Dlenian and green Rincoth, Southern Weyr
Brother: I'len (Innlen) and blue Ladoth, Southern Weyr
First Child: Kirain, female, weyrbrat, High Reaches Hold
Second Child: Raikin, male, weyrbrat, High Reaches Hold
Third Child: Kinerai, male, twin to Kindra, weyrbrat, Fort Hold
Fourth Child: Kindra, female, twin to Kindan, weyrbrat, Fort Hold
Appearance: Kindle is a woman of medium height with proportionate weight. She has a thick dark brown, almost black hair in springy but not tight curls. She usually keeps it cut fairly short, about to her ears, but has neglected it lately, so locks trail to her chin in a ragged fringe. Her dark eyes are rimmed with thick lashes and set in an oval face of golden brown skin. Her nose is slightly roman and set a little high above her mouth. She keeps her lips rouged darkly as they are rather thin and the color makes them look fuller. Her brows are thick but separate and arch elegantly over her eyes. Her cheekbones are high and become quite prominent when she drops weight. She has a curvacious figure when she wears a little extra weight, but drops excess pounds easily, making her appear boney.
Personality: Kindle is a quiet, pensive and meditative type person. She rarely speaks, preferring to convey her opinions and thoughts through her expressive face. She likes solitary contemplation, allowing only her queen into her confidence until she has come to a final conclusion. When she is thinking, her body is usually almost perfectly still, as if she was in a sort of trance. She is often thought exceedingly rude as she often does not make verbal greetings, even to dignitaries. She cares deeply about the public perception of the weyrs, but very little about the perception of herself. She can seem patient and short by turns, for as long as she is still thinking, others are welcome to their own arguments, but when she has made up her mind, she feels that everyone should have had sufficient time to do so and does not tolerate those who are still hemming and hawing.
History: Kindle was born and mostly raised at High Reaches Weyr. She had a few minor run-ins with the Weyrleaders. She had gotten caught on two occassions 'wandering' around in the tunnels that led to the Hatching Grounds. On the first occassion, she had been found asleep on the ground outside of the Hatching Grounds. Her glow basket had went out. She hadn't gotten into too much trouble on that occassion because there was no eggs on the sands at the time. The second occassion she was about six turns old and a junior gold had clutched a small number off eggs and no gold. Kindle had gotten severly punished by both the goldrider and her parents. She stopped her 'wandering' and started behaving. Though there were still a few times she couldn't resist the temptation of wandering again. Kindle decided to apprentice to the Healer craft at the age of 12. She found that she liked dealing with children. She made that her specialty when she made Journeyman status at the age of 18. She loved helping children. She met her first lover when he brought in his little sister because she had a sprained arm. Kindle healed the little girl's arm and found herself flirting with him. She learned his name that day to be Te'wan. He was the rider of bronze Belmath. She knew he was a dragonrider, but not a bronze rider. She agreed to meet him for a picnic one evening and was taken by surprise, a little, when she saw a bronze come down from Te'wan's weyr and pick her up.
A few days later, one of the junior golds had a flight. Kindle was caught in the infirmary checking Te'wan's little sister's arm for any infection when he came barging in. His sister left, her examination was complete just as her brother had walked in and the flight was just beginning. Kindle felt the same emotions roll over her as Te'wan took her in his arms. Te'wan and Kindle became close after that day. Kindle was 18 and ten months when the flight happened. She was searched by her second sister's lifemate, Rincoth. She shared the news with Te'wan. After that he started avoiding her. She didn't understand why. She confronted him and he told her that he didn't want to ruin her chances of impressing with mixed emotions and causing her to get confused. She understood and they only hung out as friends. At the age of 19, Kindle stood on the Hatching Grounds of High Reaches and waited for a green dragonette to come her way. One started towards her but actually had impressed to a girl behind Kindle. Kindle was so disappointed she was about to run off the sands. The gold egg hatched as Kindle turned away. She hadn't held any hope of impressing the gold hatchling. A soothing voice echoed in Kindle's head. She looked around the sands, but she didn't see any green. All she saw was golden Helluth sitting in the shattered pieces of her shell. Kindle was surprised to be the one girl that Helluth wanted.
Kindle and Helluth struggled for a short time through Weyrling Training. Mostly it was Kindle that was struggling. She didn't understand most of what she was being told about when Helluth would have her first mating flight. Kindle became scared at first. She was hard put to keep that fear from her lifemate knowing that it would cause the gold to go /between/. So, Kindle worked hard to keep her feelings seperate from Helluth, atleast until the gold was old enough to understand the feelings. Exactly one month after Kindle and Helluth graduated from Weyrling training, Helluth had her flight. With the knowledge that she had been given by the Weyrling Master and Weyrwoman, Kindle did her best to keep Helluth from eating meat. The flight was a long one. Belmath rose with the other males and bid his time, waiting for a chance to win the youngest gold. The bronze caught a thermal that carried him in a loose left turn. At that moment, Helluth had caught a similar thermal when she banked right in a loose turn. Belmath caught Helluth. The resulting clutch was large and with a gold egg. Helluth and Kindle were very proud of the clutch. Kindle discovered that she was pregnant with her first child. She gave birth a sevenday early than predicted to a healthy baby girl Te'wan and Kindle named Kirain.
Belmath caught Helluth four turns in a row. During that time, Kindle gave birth to two more children, Raikin, a boy, and Kinerai, a girl. Te'wan and Belmath were scored very bad during an erratic Fall and were not able to be saved. Kindle was so hurt by her mate's death, she cried every night for several sevendays. She put on a mask to hide her true feelings from the rest of Pern. She only interacted with men when Helluth rose, but never any other time unless it was regarding Weyr matters. She couldn't take the memories and requested a transfer to Silent Weyr. She has been there for less than a month.
Dragon stats (If your character has a dragon)
Name: Helluth
Age: 6
Description: Helluth is a very small gold compared to other golds. Her delicate frame though small is very well portioned and allows for a rather bueatiful look. She has a very mid golden tone the color of polished gold. Her tone is almost even over her entire body except for the slight lighting of it on her stomach and neck. The shading difference is so minute the it is barely noticable. Her wings are the same shade as her stomach and though thin looking are very strong.
Color: Gold
Personality: Helluth is a picky gold when she is about to rise. She is flirty with the bronzes and some browns if she likes them. Though, she has never let a brown catch her. Helluth is very protective of her eggs when she has a clutch to brood over, especially if there is a gold egg. If there is no gold egg, she isn't as brooding. She is more assertive than her rider in some things though she will stand behind her rider in others. She sees the Weyr as not her play thing, but as her home and likes to chat with the other dragons, regardless of the dragon's color. Helluth still misses her mate. She is happy with her lifemate's choice and has been flirting with a bronze or two since arriving to Silent Weyr.
